Massive inside picking problems, not sure if I string hop

Hello, I wanted to post my first critique here as I have big problems with inside picking of any kind. I have no clue if I am string hopping or what is going wrong here. I have been working on solving my inside picking problems for several months but I have not shown any improvement on this. Seems like no matter how much I attempt to get cleaner with this, it never improves. When I play in G position with little inside picking, I can play far faster and cleaner than in C position. I have included a few clips of me playing fiddle tunes in C position and one in G position.

I screw up whenever there is any inside picking at all. It throws my timing off and gets my pick tangled. Play any song in C shape does this as I think phrasing leads to more inside picking.

My arrangement for this song includes a lot of inside picking. I'm pretty hopeless at playing at even relatively slow speeds. Here's my pick getting tangled up throughout the tune.

I can play pretty fast and clean when the song is in G position and includes very little inside picking. I believe I am using DSX when playing this. There's a few notes with inside picking.

Here's a song in C position I can play cleanly sometimes. It's about a 1/200 chance I play it this clean. It's like winning the lottery if I play it clean. It has a little bit of inside picking.

Not sure whether to use more arm motion or to keep it mostly wrist. I notice I start getting more tense as I do this faster and start using more arm/elbow motion when I go faster.

Grier C shape DSX line

Grier C shape DSX line

Doing the Grier DSX line as fast as I can while maintaining somewhat clean playing. It's very hard to angle the pick like grier does especially with my dart thrower angle and gliding fingers anchor.
