Help finding secondary motion, some general questions on USX

Description

Hello again! After an embarrassing amount of years I have discovered that I am a USX player. I think there's something to be said about how DSX playing is popularized, and in my mind all the players I looked up to used this motion and it never really thought to me to try USX. I can't begin to tell you how smooth and effortless this feels, it's only been around a week of messing around with this odd way of playing and I've already made so much progress. Have been having fun with DSX patterns and pushing my speed, it feels like I can finally make progress on the instrument That being said, I am dipping my toes into "two way patterns" as you can see at the end of the video but I'm having a very difficult time doing descending "outside the string" changes. B string: UDU G string: DUD. I can feel the secondary motion developing, mostly the switch to DSX on the last note of the B string, but I get this really gross and unreliable feeling when trying to pull the pick up to clear the string. I've been messing around with this for several days and cant seem to get something that feels natural and works well at high speeds. My USX motion is trash and I've poured too much time into trying to get sustainable high speed and consistency playing with it, it does not work. I'm wondering if I should just lean into economy picking everything?? Also not in the video, I can actually play ascending 3nps much better with a "secondary motion" than my descending runs. Thanks for all the help over the years.
