Mid-range tempos are always awkward feeling
Description
Hey, this is my first TC. I've attached a video of my technique at 160bpm and 120bpm of the same simple 6nps major scale pattern. As the title suggests, playing in the midrange tempos (100-130bpm-ish) range has always felt awkward for me. You can see in the 120bpm clip I start string hopping and the technique kinda falls apart once I get to the higher strings. I know this is caused by competing motions going on in my brain. I can, after an extended period of playing get the 120bpm to feel similar to 160bpm run but it seems like every time I pick up the guitar I'm starting from scratch. It's been super frustrating because 1. I would like to be able to play actual music in this tempo range and 2. I would like to work on cleaning up my faster playing (things like string tracking, muting, note clarity ect) at these lower tempos but I just feel like I'm fighting basic technique. I've tried dropping the tempo down to say the 80 or 90's range just doesn't feel like a challenge. I'm wondering how you would approach this and any tips on how to train my brain on using the "better" technique at lower speeds. Happy to supply additional clips. Appreciate itLesson Category
