Motion mechanics feedback
Description
Hello, I'd love to get a technique critique, as I'm struggling with several issues. Mostly, I'm having trouble playing even notes - when I try to play faster while staying in rhythm, my notes start swinging. Before going further, I'd like to hear your feedback on the motion mechanics. I notice that better phrases have a more stable thumb and more linear movement. However, I often notice small micro-movements or corrections with my thumb and index finger, which likely causes me to get out of rhythm. In the videos, I included single-note-per-string playing at the fastest speed I can do, some free phrases, and a few metronome attempts. I'm mostly learning blues-style playing, which I'd like to expand into more blues-rock, but my end goal is fusion. Sorry that there is no amp audio - I hope that's not a big issue at this stage. I use a Tonex Plug through headphones and cannot really record it. So far, I'm focusing only on picking mechanics, since I cannot allocate too much time. Roughly 20–40 minutes, 5 times per week, is the maximum I can manage currently. So I want to use that time to improve my picking. The motion mechanics and accurately reproducing the movements from the Pickslanting Primer seem very subtle, which is why I'd be happy to hear your feedback. Thank you!Lesson Category
