3NPS alternate picking

Description

This is my first technique review. I'm not much of an alternate picking player, I usually don't pick very much actually. I'm a jazz player and I try to work on my speed and efficiency in the context of improvisation, hence why I chose this exercise which is basically playing a 3NPS major scale as fast as I can cleanly then transposing a minor third above while staying in position, and on. I've started watching the Pickslanting Primer and have completed the Motion Tests. Basically, I s*ck at forearm playing and the fastest I can go is using "Van Halen's wrist motion". This video was filmed before watching the primer, so I'm playing as "instinctively" as I could on this one -- apart from forcing myself to attack all the notes with the right hand. What I'd like to know is : 1. what specific movements and techniques am I using here without being aware of it? 2. Are there any bad habits I need to get rid of? 3. Should I keep using the same movements after you tell me exactly what they are or should try to explore different ones that could potentially suit my physiology better? Thank you.
