first tc - bad habits?

Description

I've just been working through the material. For years I have not been able to comfortably get above around 90 bpm (16th notes). I notice when I do tremolo, I can get myself faster but when I play normally my technique changes back to what I am doing habitually. Can you tell me what you see in these videos? I do 2 tremolos with different picks and two regular playing - scale and scale pattern. What motions do you see and am I doing some thing bad in my regular playing that might be limiting my speed? thank you! this site is amazing!

Me trying to do something more like the Al Di Meola movement. First (I think) more reverse dart holding pick in at my finger tip, second with my wrist turned more back holding pick on the side of my finger. This last movement feels most stable for tremolo but also very awkward just as a playing movement. I also am not sure how I would play more towards the neck without muting strings because I'm bracing quite a bit with the palm of my hand..
