Primary Motion
Need help on identifying primary motion, as well as an escape motion. Regarding escape motion, I feel like I tend to play with DSX, and that’s the motion that I do when I tremolo pick, but I also find it harder to start phrases on an upstroke, and they come out messy. Also having issues with hand feeling “secure” - when I focus too much on anchoring it, sometimes I feel like it gets stuck to the bridge, even if it doesn’t. On the other hand, if I let it float, I don’t have much control over picking.
Also, when doing 16th for continuous amount of time, for example Gambale’s Chopbuilder, my arm tenses up around biceps and I have to briefly stop. Not sure if that is relevant, but thought I’d mention it since we are talking about picking.
All in all, I would greatly appreaciate feedback and guidance on how to further modify and/or develop my picking technique (practicing is a given :) ).
Excuse the mess in the back!
