TC for Joao
Description
Hi, friend! I've been working hard on my 2wps and awareness. I think I've found the USX shape, trying to imitate the feel of the RDT DSX as closely as possible... I've also worked on my inside and outside picking. And yeah, I still hate inside picking))) Overall, I've become faster and more accurate, and I hope you'll see progress in my playing. I'm interested in what you can say about my current form and skill. I have a few questions, and for simplicity's sake, I'll list them: 1. I noticed that your and Oparin's wrists are more pronated than mine (especially when playing on thick strings). 2. I found a video online from Anton's school... he often contradicts himself and doesn't fully understand what he's doing. In his figure eights, he clearly plays using 2wps and the basic motion of the RDT DSX. And it's noticeable at high speed. Although he claims to use DSX and USX only for transitions, he mostly uses Trapped Motion... 3. I tried making in and out transitions not with a single motion, but with a sequence of simple ones (for example, DSX>rotate>USX>rotate). Is this worth doing? 4. When playing DSX patterns at speeds above 180, it feels like the wrist movement is being created not by the wrist, but by the forearm. Even though I'm not moving my forearm, it feels like I'm shaking the wrist left and right. It feels funny, but I'm not sure if it's correct. 5. I also try muting the strings without rotating the wrist, but as Oparin said in his interviews, by slightly flattening the entire wrist, and the edge in particular, so as not to change the angle of the entire structure. Well, when playing with explicit DSX, muting the third (and in our case, the fourth, haha) this way is extremely difficult. How do you deal with this problem? Overall, I've become faster and more precise, but it's not enough! Haha))) I feel like I can do more, and here I am again, asking for a lesson from the sensei))) By the way, I'm already trying out the new form, and the attached videos include a section of the new track played on an eight-string Ibanez)))Lesson Category
