Single-String Ex (bgng)

Description

Moving on from "Unlocking the Tremolo." Playing frets 5-6-7-8 on strings G, B, and high E. The rhythm is 16 notes, but the notes are played in groups of 4, 2, and 1. The goal was to maintain speed. I think this worked best on the B string (and worst on the high E). Subtle adjustments remain to be made. Hand placement (when moving string to string) and pick grip are concerns. I'm submitting now because I want to know if I've veered off course----no sense going further down the wrong path. ;o) As you suggested, I'm playing triplets (3 nps patterns) but they are s-l-o-w. I have no speed there yet. For more musical patterns, I'm working on some Al di Meola licks and Strunz & Farrah licks that I found on this site. They are faster than triplets but not nearly as fast as the tremolo. So much work to do!
