Alternate 130
Alternate 130 bpm Hey dudes! I’m not really sure how to proceed. My goal is wrist picking—that’s what I’ve decided on because my heroes primarily use wrist picking. However, I’ve noticed that I naturally tend to rely on my elbow (I’d say about 70% elbow, 30% wrist for fast parts, while for slower parts, I exclusively use my wrist). At higher tempos, I’ve realized I lose a bit of control—does that happen often with elbow picking? Also, my current speed limit is around 130 BPM for 16th note triplets, and even that’s not super clean. I’ve recorded a second video of the same lick at 100 BPM, and you can clearly see how my elbow starts to kick in. My questions are: Should I just keep practicing and try to break my speed limit, or should I slow down and work my way back up to improve control? Should I try to switch my technique entirely? Overall, does my technique look solid? I’m open to any and all feedback and super excited about this critique feature—you guys are awesome (shoutout to the CTC team)! Cheers, Marco
