Can't shred despite trying my hardest, need help! (Magnet Videos)

I need help. I'm a primary DSX player, I've been playing for about 15 years and have made dedicated efforts to improve my picking but just can't figure out what the problem is. I feel like I can tremolo pick okay, but everything breaks down if I try the Intense Rock Paul Gilbert lick or anything that isn't equal 6's. I want things to target to improve my picking - or some focused advice. Troy very helpfully gave me some in the forum, but I'm wondering if there's something more fundamental wrong with my picking. I bought a Magnet but I'm too inexperienced with picking mechanics to figure this out myself or find out what to do. I got a guitar teacher for the first time in my life who essentially makes me do the old school "metronome and speed it up" thing but I don't feel like this is working for me. I've uploaded various clips of me playing some lines, including a lick I struggle with a lot from Fuzz Universe. Thank you.Lesson Category
