Pickslanting Stumble

Description

Hello from Cyprus, I'm new to your forum but have been obsessed with your site, videos and analysis ever since the whole CTC series started. I have taken the plunge to join your community in order for you guys to hopefully shed some light to my shortcomings as a guitarist. I have been playing guitar for 30 years but only recently decided to focus on what has always been my weak point, picking. I consider myself a downward pickslanter (feel free to help me reach a different conclusion) just by watching tonnes of videos from CTC as well as Ben Eller (who I think has been doing your site and work justice). This particular video has been intentionally filmed during what I consider one of my 'bad' picking days, during which my picking 'stumbles', especially in high speed. Most of the time I strategically devise runs that utilise an even number of notes on each string before moving to the next as I have found that it enables me play faster and more smoothly and as you will notice in the video, some of it is well executed while most of it is not that smooth at all. I would love if you guys could help me out by offering advice on what specifically to practise in order to make sure my playing is consistent (and eliminate the 'stumbling' element) as well as identify my strongest point so as to focus on that even more and plan my playing around it. Finally, in relation to the latter, I would love it if you could tell me what I can use on the site to improve my picking. Please note that the video starts a few seconds in ( I suck at video editing too!). Thank you in advance!
