DSX player trying to unlock USX

Hey guys! I think I’m getting closer to unlocking a USX motion in my playing. I think I can get a tremolo going, but it’s hard to control the speed. Based on these videos, am I on the right track? If this motion looks ok, how should I practice to gain more control over speed variation? It feels like I can “click in” to a smooth motion, but it’s hard to slow it down or accent triplet feels etc. It kind of just locks into a fast tremolo that can be hard to control.

DSX player struggling with metal rhythm playing

Hey guys! This is my first TC submission, and I’m stoked to be here. Since discovering Cracking the Code I’ve learned that I’m a DSX player, and I think I’m kind of in the “David Grier” camp (dsx motion, pronated wrist). This has unlocked some cool licks, and a big improvement in overall speed. However, I still really struggle with single string palm muted rhythm playing (example: Metallica). I think I favor using my wrist joint near my thumb-side, but I feel like I need to develop the ability to use the joint near my pinky side if I want to achieve the proper palm mute effect. It feels very difficult to rotate my hand in a supinated fashion without sacrificing speed and fluid motion. I seem to be able to palm mute using a string hopping technique, but it comes with a serious lack of speed. My question: is it possible for me to learn USX playing for situational Hetfield-esque metal rhythm playing? Or is it possible to achieve the same effect via DSX motion?
