First is the regular Jazz III. Then the purple Tortex "XL" Jazz III, which I think is 1.14mm. The blue one is a Tortex Jazz III at 1mm. Last is the XL version of the regular Jazz III

16th notes at 120/150/180

at 120 I try switching between the tremolo motion (reverse dart thrower?) and the forearm/wrist motion. Forearm/wrist motion is easier to control, but feels slower. The other motion is also awkward to do at this speed - it's easier to do it around 150, and 180 is ok too, it's just harder for my left hand to keep up.

Bluegrass tune. I think I'm using wrist motion and maybe a double escape for the first half, but in the second half I'm always tempted to switch to elbow tremolo, to keep up with faster tempos.

Bluegrass tune. I can play this comfortably around 110, but any faster leads to strain and tension.

Another bluegrass tune. My speed limit is even slower on this one than the other two, as there's more string crossing

Seek & Destroy lick

This pentatonic lick is from Kirk Hammett’s solo in Seek & Destroy. I can play it reasonably well at lower speeds using some kind of wrist motion, but it doesn’t feel like it can go any faster with this technique

Thunderstruck

Thunderstruck, with arm motion? I can play this comfortably for quite a while without fatigue, but it’s really hard to change strings or do anything other than 1-string tremolo with this technique
