Downward pick slanting (sloppy)

I’m currently using a downward pickslanting approach. I do not anchor or touch the guitar body with my picking hand, and I’m trying to keep the motion consistent and avoid “garage spikes,” where one individual note suddenly sounds harsh or accented. My main problem is that my picking does not feel smooth or even, even when I’m trying to keep the motion small and relaxed. With my downward pickslant, I also seem to produce a lot of unwanted noise compared to the actual guitar tone. The pick can sound scratchy and harsh, and sometimes there seems to be more pick noise than the note itself. I’m hoping to get an analysis of my actual picking motion and find out what movement mechanic is most natural and efficient for me. I would especially like feedback on whether my current downward pickslant is appropriate for my motion, what is causing the uneven/harsh attacks and excess pick noise, and what I should change to make my picking smoother, cleaner, and more consistent.
