Elbow vs wrist

Description

I’m trying to identify my main motion. In the first part of the video I’m using my elbow, and it seems to be faster and easier to pick for a long time. In the second part of the video I’m using the wrist, which is the motion I would normally use for normal playing. From what I see I have a very slight downward slant with both techniques, but I might be wrong. I’m wondering whether I should focus more on the elbow, it feels it could go faster with less effort that my current wrist motion, which is usually maxing out around 140 bpm sixteenth note in non tremolo picking licks.
